Alexander Bartholomew is Digital & E-Commerce Director on the Board of Steinhoff UK, which owns both the home furnishings & furniture chain Harveys, and the bed specialist Bensons for Beds. Bartholomew is an experienced digital retailer who enjoys inspiring and leading transformative growth. Bartholomew started out in retail on the John Lewis Partnership management graduate scheme, and has since held senior posts at Waitrose, Dunelm, and The Range before joining Steinhoff UK. In addition to his service on the Boards of major UK retailers, he has also acted as a consultant to e-commerce start-ups and is passionate about finding solutions that make digital retail work better for both customers and retailers. Of particular note in Bartholomew's track record is delivering stellar growth in e-commerce sales at The Range. During his four year appointment on their executive board as Multichannel Director he significantly advanced the brands' digital capabilities, playing a major part in the latest chapter of the impressive growth story in which the business was recognised in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100. His new appointment to Steinhoff UK in January 2018 is to take on responsibility for transforming the Harveys and Bensons brands and to advise on digital and e-commerce across the group
